Skin Needling EPN Microneedling Gold Coast

EPN Skin Needling Package Only $650

TGA approved EPN is the next generation of skin needling that combines the latest technology of micro needling with electroporation for advanced results.

EPN Microneedling is a safe device and minimally invasive procedure designed to stimulate the production of new collagen and elastin fibres in your skin. The treatment employs tiny medical-grade needles to create micro-channels that in turn excite the release of growth factors that lead to the synthesis of new collagen and elastin.

Once micro-channels have been created, the electroporation technology helps to increase the permeability of the cell membrane and deliver cosmetic preparations into the deeper layers of the skin for faster, more effective results.

The results include:
How does Microneedling work?

Medical skin needling or microneedling is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), due to the production of collagen and elastin the treatment generates. It is a minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment designed to improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as scars on the face & body.

The treatment uses tiny needles or micro-needles on a medical-grade dermal pen that is moved over the skin to create tiny, evenly-spaced puncture wounds on the skin.  Small needles clusters on a hand held device penetrate into the skin and break up old collagen strands and stimulate the production of elastin fibres oriented from the deep layers of the dermis to the surface. The result is smoother, thicker, more even toned skin.

This process stimulates the body’s natural collagen production by generating a “wound healing” response. By wounding the skin you encourage the body to produce new collagen and elastin, which helps it thicken and ‘plump up’. The procedure can be performed on the face and body.

During the collagen induction process, the hand held device will penetrate through the epidermis but does not remove it. Since the epidermis is only punctured, it will heal rapidly. Microneedling can penetrate the skin anywhere from 0.5mm to 2mm depending on the depth of the skin condition needing remediation. Pinpoint bleeding can occur and in the dermis the skin develops multiple micro bruises that initiate the complex cascade of growth factors that eventually result in collagen production.

Microneedling is the only skin rejuvenation treatment to target the regulated 3 key skin cells (Keratinocyte, melanocyte and fibroblast) without compromising the integrity of the epidermis.

What is Electroporation?

Electroporation is produced by an intermittent current pulsed between 150 to 300ms which open channels and aquaporins on the cellular membranes, facilitating the transfer of the therapeutic active ingredients into the cells. With electroporation there is no needling so there is no mechanical stimulation, however can be used in conjunction with microneedling to help improve the penetration of topical cosmeceuticals through the pin-point channels created by microneedling.

How does Electroporaton work?

Electroporation is a technique in which an electrical field is applied to cells in order to increase the permeability of the membranes, allowing products to be introduced into the cell more efficiently.

It’s application to the skin has been shown to increase transdermal product delivery by several orders of magnitude. Moreover, electroporation, used alone or in combination with skin microneedling expands the range of products which can be delivered trans-dermally.

The main advantage of electroporation is that it is a totally painless treatment not causing any kind of trauma to the skin as it does not require needles.

Benefits of Electroporation

Increase the transdermal transport of active ingredients up to the dermal level through pilosebaceous, sudoriferous and transcellular pathways. The top layer of skin is the main barrier for the penetration of active ingredients contained in cosmeceuticals. Electroporation increases the permeability of the skin, which allows any substance applied on the skin’s surface to be absorbed.

When used in synergy with microneedling the effectiveness is highly increased. The channels created by the needling are offering an additional pathway for the substance.

They make sterile topical treatments more effective. Studies suggest that electroporation technology boosts the effectiveness of sterile topical treatment by several hundred per cent.

No risk of burns, muscular fasciculation, pain or inflammation.

Who is a candidate?

Microneedling with Electroporation is suitable for all skin types. It is ideal for clients wanting to improve on hyperpigmentation, skin laxity, uneven skin, enlarged pores, acne, scarring, onset of ageing and rosacea.

Skin Recovery

At the end of the treatment there will be erythema present and mild bleeding can occur. The skin may be red for 24-72 hours.

Risks

There are little risks involved with microneedling however the following can occur;

Any complications are rare and in most cases easily resolved.
